May 2012 Ride report
Well what an awesome start to the season, the 1st ride is well an truly done & dusted. 350 riders was the last count with no injuries at all. So it's a big thank you from me (Steve Mc) & the committee for such a well behaved bunch of petrol heads. Cheers.
The new tracks seemed to have been well worth all the time an effort as only good comments have come our why so far. We managed to have a 40km loop which was completely opened up once we had taken the families for a ride in the morning.
I would like to say a huge well done to all the kids & novice riders that came out with us. We had around 50 of you which is one of the biggest groups to date. I also would like to thank all the parents that came out to help us (great to see). The whole idea behind it is to teach & show the kids & novices what the main loops are all about so eventually they can go out & do them without fear. Thank you to all the committee for your efforts & well done.
There are still some people out there that aren't sure on some of TTBRC rules, please make sure you read them as we are still having problems with people NOT WEARING THEIR HELMETS IN THE PITS , this is an absolute must please. (never say that it won't happen to me)
We are always looking for help to make & maintain the tracks. We
are generally up in the forest every weekend. The best day to come up is a Sunday at the same place the rides start. It's open to all this includes families , what do you get for your efforts .Well you get lots of fresh air for free, you get day away from home for free, you get to spend so time with us your friendly track makers for free, you might even get to have some input for free. The best bit is that for every working bee you do you get a free ride, now you do the maths - 7 working bees an your season is paid for an if you come along as a family , well I don't need to add up the savings. Bear in mind though you are there to work.
The T100 is going to be upon us very soon 7th July for those that don't know. Yes we do have a main sponsor - Blue Wing Honda NZ in conjunction with Whakatane new Honda dealer Tony Rees. Big thanks to Honda - Cheers.
There are still a lot of other sponsors that we require to make this event happen, there classes that need sponsoring at a mere cost of $250 per class, for this you get your company name on your chosen class trophy in advertising an promoted throughout the event on the day.
So if you enjoy the sport or want to reach out to a different sector of customer , give it a go.
Contact can be made through the clubs web page or contact Steve or Nicky on 07 3229227.
To all those that had a hot coffee from the big green bus cheers hope it hit the spot , he will be back next month. So make sure you pay him a visit as its sure to warm the heart & soul. Cheers to the bean man.
Who tried the Brazilin (food I mean) wasn't that just the yummiest fast food. Can't say I've ever eaten good old NZ beef that tasted that good. Sonny & Scott will be there again next month , so save up all your pocket money can go get yourself some Brazilian food. Cheers.
So there you go for 1st ride , thanks you to all, helpers, riders, families and a special thank you to Nicky, my wife, as it was our wedding anniversary on the day of the ride. Cheers Nicky.
All the best to you all.
Remember same place, same time, next month.
Ride hard play hard :)
Steve Mc
