That's right, Cody Cooper proved unstoppable at the 2010 Tony Rees Motorcycles Tarawera 100 this year. Cody lead from start to finish, making the tough track look easy. Shaun Fogerty in second, and Damien King in third. Full details and access to plenty of pictures in the Tarawera 100 section of the website, check it out!
Thanks to everyone that helped make this years event so successful and congratulations to Kirby Wheeler who took home a $1000 Leatt neck brace as a spot prize.

August 2010 Ride Summary
Despite the doom and gloom weather predictions, just on three hundred riders turned out for over 70km’s of pure dirt bike riding indulgence. The August trail ride arguably saw some of the best tracks the club has prepared to date. I know we keep saying something similar each ride, but this time you had to be there to truly appreciate both the morning and afternoon loops in all their glory. Much credit must go out to all our dedicated volunteers who prepare the tracks for each ride.
Once again, the bad weather forecast did not dampen the family attendance, with over 30 families attending and with the only gripe being some missed out on the family ride in the morning all left with huge smiles. The family ride leaves at 10.30 on the morning of the ride, so our apologies for this ride leaving a few minutes early.
The morning loop benefited from the rain during the week and turned out to be an absolute blast. Although having to be cut back to just over 30km’s due to forestry activities, the loop quality certainly did not suffer. Having a 6km and 10km short cut home, there was something for riders of all abilities. Just after 11.30, the afternoon loop opened and the track crew had prepared another 20km’s of riding bliss. Green arrow options, white arrow extreme sections and after a touch of rain some slippery hill climbs rounded out the day by giving something for all riders, be they novice or expert alike.
Unfortunately there is a minority whom don’t exercise common sense. Number one is speeding in the pits. Dangerous and just plain dumb. Parents, you need to educate your children on this as well. Secondly, riding through bunting on the trail. We put it there for a reason, mostly so you don’t ride headlong into someone else or get lost. We try to make the best tracks we can with the space available, so if you accidentally go through these bunted off areas put the bunting back up. Would your mates rather wait a minute for this or an hour for an ambulance???
Seems like we are not the only ride organisers having the same issue. Think about it, is it going to take someone getting hurt before we see commonsense prevail????
Enough grumblings. The next ride is on September 5th and don’t forget the last ride of the year has just been confirmed for the 26th September. Be there or I’ll send my gran around to roost you!!!!
